Welcome to Adventure!

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is now all-gender for all youth.  Formerly Boy Scouts, Scouts BSA is for youth ages 10 to 17.  All scouting must be completed prior to turning 18 years of age.  You do not need to be graduating Cub Scouts nor have any scouting experience to join us.

Scouts BSA Troop 008 (or Troop 8) is for all Benicia boys ages 10-17.  We are one of two all-boys Troops in town, the other being Troop 007.  We collaborate with them and Troop 009, the all-girl Troop in town.  We further collaborate with Cub Scout Pack 108 (we serve as Den Chiefs for them), Sea Scout Ship 91, and Venturing Crew 78.

Our Chartering Organization is the Benicia Lions Club .

What is Scouts BSA?

Scouts BSA is the traditional Scouting experience where boys can have their share of adventure in the great outdoors. Develop a love of service by volunteering in your community, boost your leadership skills through fun and exciting challenges, and create memories of a lifetime.

A scout will be exposed to different Rank Advancements and he can pursue to the top rank of Eagle Scout.

A scout will be invited to a Troop outing each month, whether it be a hiking adventure, a camping trip, or a service project.  We also attend Summer Camps at one of the five BSA owned campgrounds under the Golden Gate Area Council.

For over 100 years, our program has helped create generations of leaders and outstanding citizens by allowing boys to explore their interests, serve their communities, and discover their talents through youth-led activities and volunteering!
